In the heart of Oklahoma's "Green Country," Tulsa has many parks with running, hiking and biking trails, playgrounds, sports fields and tennis courts.

Tulsans love to play in the River Parks. Runners, bikers, skaters and walkers use the park’s 24 miles of paved trails along the banks of the Arkansas River. Others enjoy playgrounds and picnic areas, watching rowers on the river, the River Skate Park, a disk golf course, airboat tours and entertainment at the floating amphitheater. And YPs are drawn to the Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area for its hiking and mountain biking with a panoramic view of Tulsa.

The Tulsa Zoo has become a magnet for families and animal lovers alike, and for good reason. The zoo is one of the most impressive in the region and was named America’s Favorite Zoo in 2005. The nearby Oxley Nature Center offers more than 800 pristine acres of walking trails through forests, fields and wetlands.

The Oklahoma Aquarium, located on the banks of the Arkansas River in Jenks, houses more than 200 exhibits and a variety of marine and aquatic animals.

And the City's Tulsa Parks department boasts 125 parks covering roughly 6,000 acres including nature centers, golf courses, swimming pools, sports fields, playgrounds, tennis courts, The River SkatePark, trails and more.
